Make real food photos look professional — without a photo shoot
Your dish tastes great. The phone photo doesn't show it.
YumMate.app takes the photo your kitchen already took during service and improves the lighting, contrast and crop — so your menu, social and delivery listings look as good as the plate that leaves the pass.
Why most restaurant photos look worse than the food
- Yellow kitchen lights kill the colour. The sauce that looks rich on the plate looks muddy on screen.
- Phone shadows fall across the plate at exactly the wrong angle.
- The background is a steel pass, a dishwasher rack or a stack of receipts.
- Steam disappears in three seconds, and the photo is dark, cluttered and flat.
- The result: customers scroll past dishes that would be the table's favourite if they tried them.
From phone photo to menu image in four steps
- Take the real photo. Plate the dish like service. Take a single phone photo. No tripod, no light box. Real conditions are fine.
- Upload to YumMate.app. Drag the file in or pick it from your camera roll. Add an optional price and dish name. Pick the language for any text overlays.
- Pick a style and format. Classic, Premium or Gourmet style. Output in 9:16 (Stories), 1:1 (feed) or 16:9 (menu screens) — or all three.
- Download or push to display. Use the result on your menu, your delivery app, your Instagram or your in-house MenuBoard. Re-generate anytime if you don't like the first take.
What restaurants use the cleaned-up photos for
- Printed and digital menus. Replace dim phone snaps on QR menus and printed menu inserts with photos that don't make the dish look cheap.
- Delivery app listings. Lift your photos above the average for Lieferando, Uber Eats, DoorDash and Wolt — where customers decide from a thumbnail.
- Instagram and TikTok. Daily content from dishes you're already making. No content calendar, no agency.
- MenuBoard screens. Loop a playlist of cleaned-up dish photos and short clips on the screen above the counter.
- Specials and seasonal menus. When the menu changes weekly, the photos can change with it.
- Catering and event proposals. Send proposals with photos of the actual dishes you'll serve, not stock images of someone else's food.
Real dish, real food. The photo just stops lying about it.
YumMate.app does not invent dishes. It does not generate fantasy food. The photo your guest sees is the dish your kitchen sent out — only with the lighting, contrast and crop a phone camera couldn't manage. The food on the plate is the star. The tool just gets out of its way.

Common questions
- Does YumMate.app create fake food?
- No. YumMate.app starts from the real photo of the real dish. It improves the presentation — lighting, contrast, composition — but the dish stays the dish. We refuse the fake-food approach because it costs you trust the moment a guest sees the plate.
- Can I use a normal phone photo?
- Yes. That's the whole point. Most uploads are phone photos taken at the pass during service. You don't need a DSLR, a tripod or a light box.
- Can I use the result on delivery apps like Lieferando or Uber Eats?
- Yes. The output formats and aspect ratios match what major delivery platforms accept. We don't have an official integration with those platforms — you download and upload on their side.
- Do I need photo editing experience?
- No. Upload, pick a style, download. If you'd rather have help, talk to your team — but the default flow is built for restaurant operators who do not have time for Photoshop.
- Can I create videos as well as images?
- Yes. Each dish can include a short 5-second hero video alongside the still image. Useful for Reels, TikTok, story posts and counter screens.
- Will the result still look like my dish?
- Yes. The improvements are presentational. We do not change ingredients, swap garnishes or invent plating. If a guest orders the dish, the plate that arrives matches the photo.
- What does it cost?
- Plans start at €29/month for the Breakfast plan (8 dishes per month). The Daily Menu plan is €59/month for 18 dishes. Most restaurants land somewhere between those two depending on menu size.
